Surprise Contest!

My friend Joanne Sundell was scheduled to be our word wizard for today. Unfortunately, her computer got fried in a power outage this weekend. Joanne will spend some time with us after the new year.

So, instead I'm going to my packed-to-the-gills bookshelves and pulling five random titles to give away. It's a poor replacement for talking with Joanne indeed, but what can I do?! I have a wide variety of romance novels on my shelf so what the winners will receive is anyone's guess. I've got single title and category, paranormal, historical, romantic suspense, contemporary...and the list goes on. Many of these titles are signed by the author and have been previously read - but still in good shape. This is an excellent opportunity to perhaps try something new and find a new favorite author.

In order to be entered in the contest just post a comment with your favorite winter or holiday themed romance novel. I'll chose five random winners and post their names on Friday!

Good luck!

I'm not sure I could pick a favorite holiday romance; there are so many to choose from! But I did just read a little gem from my friend Nicole McCaffrey. It's called Small Town Christmas and it's available at The Wild Rose Press. It won't disappoint!

I'm gonna go with Jingle Bell Rock which is my current read. It's an anthology and so far I've read Lori Foster's story. I really liked it.

I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas Letters; it is about discovering that love means accepting your differences. A great lesson in life.

Well, call me biased, but I'm kinda my partial to my new romantic suspense THE TWIST :)

Seriously,it's not a strong holiday-themed story, but it takes place during the Christmas season which provides some interesting drivers for the plot.

Beth & Deidre,

I'll have to check out Jingle Bell Rock!

I loved Jane Goodger's newest historical "Marry Christmas"!

I read a couple years ago called "The Snow Bride" and "The Christmas Basket" by Debbie Macomber. They were fun, quick reads that gave me a boost of holiday spirit.

Happy Christmas, Tiffany! Sorry your guest couldn't make it. Super contest!
I'm going to go with my own historical romance, 'Flavia's Secret,' which has it's climax during the pagan Saturnalia - the ancient Roman 'Christmas'. And the hero 'pops the question' to Flavia in a snowy landscape. There's even sweet roasted chestnuts!
Best wishes, Lindsay

Hi Tiffany,
thanks for the great contest!
One of my favorite Christmas stories is All I Want for Christmas by Nora Roberts and I love anthologies, like Mistletoe Kisses, with Regency holiday stories by Elizabeth Rolls, Diane Gaston and Deb Hale.

I'll look for Marry Christmas...

Happy Holidays!

Eva,

Thanks for the suggestions. Again I haven't read any of those...
Maybe I have some weird, undiagnosed resistance to Christmas romances?! :0) You know what the cure is? Yep, more reading! Whew-ew!
