Support A Good Cause

So, this isn't necessarily related to the romance genre but I felt it was worth the post. So bear with me for a few paragraphs...

J.A. Konrath is offering a $500 donation to First Book if his book, TRAPPED, written under his pen name Jack Kilborn, reaches the Top 100 on Kindle. He'll donate another $500 if it hits the Top 20. He's even dropped the price to $0.99! So, if you're a lover of horror in addition to romance and you want to support a good cause click here to order TRAPPED from Amazon.

Read J.A.'s original blog post and a Q&A with First Book here.

No need to worry if you don't yet have a Kindle or other electronic reading device. You can download Kindle for PC from Amazon for FREE. I've been using it (as I haven't saved enough pennies yet to purchase an e-reader) and it's working well.

Things, They Are A-Changin'

What's Playing on the I-Pod: "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele

I'm on the hunt for a new look for Armchair Heroines! So, if you stop by one day and it's flaunting hearts and flowers in shades of pink and purple then the next day it's covered with flying birds in blues and yellows, bear with me I'm just searching for the perfect look!

It's great to be back! I'm looking forward to reconnecting with all of you.

Current Read: HOW SWEET IT IS by Sophie Gunn

Well, I'm baaa-aack! After a fifteen month hiatus during which I helped a couple writer friends organize RomCon (they did the heavy lifting - I just helped), dealt with a health crisis and wrote the first draft of a new manuscript, I'm back and ready to get back to blogging. I've missed all of you!

I'm working hard to schedule guest bloggers and author interviews. I'm gathering prizes and giveaways like a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter, and I've even come up with a few new features that I think are going to be tons of fun. So come back often or add Armchair Heroines to your RSS feeds. Also check the schedule for upcoming events.

RomCon & Spotlight Authors

Current Read: ROMEO, ROMEO by Robin Kaye

As most of you know or have figured out, the majority of my time is going into RomCon, a comprehensive venture to address the needs of romance READERS!

We have a website with blogs in the Contemporary World, Historical World and Fantasy/Futurisitic/Paranormal World. Readers can also enter and rate author's websites, review sites and bookstores! We'll be launching our forum soon also.

We just launched our first annual published authors contest, The Readers' Crown, judged almost solely by readers. Check out the website for more information about becoming a judge!

Finally, we'll be having our inaugural romance readers convention, RomCon, next July in Denver! Here are our Spotlight Authors for RomCon 2010:

Anna Campbell
Brenda Novak
Christine Feehan
Carly Phillips
Cindy Gerard
Elizabeth Hoyt
Hannah Howell
Jo Beverley
Julia Quinn

Talk about a star-studded line-up!!! But we're not done yet! Be sure to watch the RomCon website for updates of authors attending RomCon as Featured Authors!

I hope you'll all join us as judges for the contest and then at the RomCon convention next July!
